Andrea Klimt: Gemeinde bilden, Glauben entwickeln - annehmend, wertschätzend, offen: The following contribution investigates the development of faith in people in light of the developmental psychology „Lifespan Developmental Approach“ and the conversation regarding the results of a research project on the religious development of adults. This has shown that most of the interviewed adults have experienced one or more changes in the form of their faith. This research project touches on an investigation of the author into the concepts of God among adult Baptists in intercultural areas. This investigation has demonstrated that almost all of the interviewed persons, regardless of their cultural background, speak of a change in their concepts of God. Subsequently, the author addresses the question what these results mean for the pedagogical praxis in the church when dealing with people in the church.
This article discusses the most important results from a research project addressing the question on the reasons for members of a Free Evangelical Church resigning from or leaving the church. The object of the evaluated interviews was to enable the subjective perspectives and interpretations of the leaving persons to gain a hearing, with an aim of understanding and interpreting the motives and the related factors leading to the resignations. The following paper presents the four main results and relationships that lead to the cessation of church membership in Free Evangelical Churches: theological differences and / or adverse experiences, the personal faith journey of the individual, change of abode and stifling fellowship. These results are further discussed and linked to possible perspectives for church development.
